Christine Hubbell

Christine Hubbell was born in Indiana and grew up not far from Lake Michigan. As a girl, she roamed the beaches, observing shorebirds amid the shifting sands, and writing and illustrating poems about the natural world.

After a decade-long career as a technical writer, Christine eventually made her way to art as a full-time passion. She now lives in Colorado and is inspired to illustrate the subjects that fuel her curiosity, including birds, wildflowers, and insects. Her first love is colored pencil, but she also enjoys working in graphite and pen and ink.

In 2013, Christine completed a foundational certificate from the School of Botanical Art and Illustration at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Christine’s work has been exhibited in juried shows and exists in private collections. Two of her pen and ink illustrations have been used in signage at the Denver Botanic Gardens. She continues to study with talented local artists and works to deepen her drawing skills at every opportunity.
